Excellence in the Building Industry: RDZ Heating System for Pietro Nenni Nursery School​

Building schools is a very important topic nowadays in Italy, thus involving the government and different organizations. A significant retrofit program has been recently approved and it has brought to the refurbishment of some Italian schools such as “Pietro Nenni” nursery school in Bagnolo Mella (BS). This is a very prestigious project which was recognized as one of the 10 most innovative schools rewarded by Legambiente.

The site consists in a fan of different one-floor buildings made of renewable materials such as wood and glass. Natural light enters the classrooms through the big windows, while the PV system collects the energy coming from the sun. RDZ underfloor heating and cooling system, designed by Arking Engineers, takes hot and cold water from a heat pump and offers the young users the ideal climate: comfortable surface where children can crawl, walk and play, large space free from barriers, uniform distribution of the temperature and healthy environment without movement of dust.

Other components for the children’s well-being? Mechanical ventilation and humidity control ensuring a high level of the indoor air quality.
