More comfortable, healthier and quieter school environments with radiant systems

IN THE IDEAL CLIMATE, CHILDREN GROW UP HEALTHY, STRONG AND READY TO LEARN

Experiencing school in comfort is not a luxury, but a necessity. From nurseries to universities, students and staff spend most of their time indoors. These are places where people grow, learn, and live.
For this reason, educational buildings must be welcoming, comfortable, and healthy. In this context, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems play a fundamental role in every season. Let's see how.

WINTER: Uniform warmth and constantly clean air

Radiant systems are ideal for winter heating. Installed on the ceiling or floor, they distribute heat through radiation, offering a pleasant, uniform, and low-energy climate.
In this season, Controlled Mechanical Ventilation (VMC) also plays a key role by allowing continuous air exchange without having to open windows. This system guarantees three major advantages:

  • Wholesomeness: indoor air is constantly rich in oxygen and free of odors or excess CO2.
  • Health: outdoor air is filtered from pollen, smog, and pollutants before entering the classrooms.
  • Energy efficiency: the heat loss that would occur by opening windows to ventilate is eliminated.

SUMMER: Air conditioning without drafts

Radiant systems are also extremely effective for summer cooling. With just a single system, it is possible to climatize rooms year-round in a constant and silent way, without annoying cold air drafts.
For optimal performance in summer, the radiant system must be paired with an adequate dehumidification system. Controlling humidity (latent load) is essential both for perceived comfort and to avoid the risk of condensation on the cooled surfaces.
Even in the hotter months, the VMC works in synergy with the system to exchange the air, filtering it and preventing outdoor heat from entering.

OUR SOLUTIONS FOR SCHOOLS: FLEXIBILITY FOR EVERY PROJECT

Our range of solutions for school climate control is wide and flexible, making it ideal for both new constructions and the retrofit and renovation of existing buildings.
Here are some of the new products introduced this year:

b!klimax AIR+ Acoustic: a radiant ceiling system that fully complies with CAM (Minimum Environmental Criteria) requirements. It features high sound absorption performance and low reaction to fire. The panels feature a special plasterboard sheet capable of absorbing and neutralizing indoor pollutants. The square-perforated finish also guarantees excellent reverberation control in classrooms.
HR ERV series units: VMC systems available in a wide range of sizes to handle large air volumes. Thanks to the entalpic heat recovery unit, the system recovers both heat and humidity from the exhaust air flow, maximizing energy savings and optimizing comfort.
DWF 3500 dehumidifier: a silent module (without an on-board fan) designed to be ducted and paired with a VMC unit. Developed specifically for radiant systems, it controls summer humidity and can manage sensible cooling and heating integration in both summer and winter.

These products represent just one of the many possible combinations to configure the ideal system.
Ensuring an optimal climate in schools means protecting the health of tomorrow's adults and offering school staff a safe and stimulating work environment.
