Five-star comfort for the Nursing Home in Mazzano (BS)

Five-star comfort in a Nursing Home: Historic renovation focused on efficiency

The renovation of the Fiorini Onlus Retirement Home in Mazzano, in the province of Brescia, is an ambitious project that interweaves the need to make the building more energy-efficient and seismically compliant with the desire to preserve its historical character.
To achieve the energy saving objectives, among other initiatives, the renewal of the heating systems was defined through the use of a radiant floor heating system combined with a factory-made hybrid system thermal unit.
As is often the case in most renovations, there were constraints here too: the available thickness was extremely limited, and it was not possible to raise the floor levels so as not to compromise the height of the rooms.
In this context, it was therefore decided to install the Neo Super D17 radiant system with 15 mm and 24 mm panels. Thanks to its compatibility with low-thickness leveling screeds, the overall size of the system was minimized: 43 mm and 52 mm respectively (excluding the finishing layer).
Neo Super D 17 is not only thin but also extremely responsive: thanks to its low thermal inertia, it can start up and stop delivering heat very quickly, ensuring the ideal temperature at all times and optimizing energy consumption.

Why is radiant floor heating the best choice for Care Homes (RSA)?
Radiant systems, in general, are highly recommended for healthcare facilities or Residential Care Homes (RSA) because they offer irreplaceable benefits:

  • They ensure uniform temperatures in all rooms, without temperature fluctuations.

  • They do not involve external elements that are potentially dangerous and they facilitate furniture arrangement.

  • They contribute to maintaining clean and healthy environments: a fundamental aspect in any healthcare facility.
